Printer Care and Service

As the owner of expensive laser and inkjet printers, you will want to keep your machines in the best possible condition.

Aside from cleaning and dusting the external parts, however, you will need to take a few extra steps to maintain your printer's health.

Know your printer's specification.

Before plugging-in your printer, make sure to read the voltage requirement to avoid breakdown of power supply.

Use specific paper.

Thin gauge of papers, staple wires, stickers and scotch tapes can cause paper jams and can damage some of the internal parts of the printer. To avoid this, use paper that matches the specifications of your printer. If you are using scrap or used papers, make sure to check each page to avoid rotational scratches on fuser films, breakage of separation pads, lower rollers, etc.

Handle your printer carefully.

Gently open the door when changing toner, avoid banging or slamming down the trays or panels when opening or closing it.

Do not over-use your printer.

Just like humans, machines need to rest. Do not print more than its capacity. Each printer has its own print cycle capacity.

Turn-off when not in use.

If problem occurs, call your JMD international service center or repesentative.

Ask your service center for immediate check-up troubleshooting. Defective parts should be replaced immediately. Otherwise, it may worsen the problem.

Request for a quarterly or yearly preventive maintenance service.
